Minutes for IASF Board Meeting in Garmisch- Partenkirchen WASC March-2008.

   

      The meeting was called to order on 02 March 2008 at 1500 by President, Christian Burger. The role was taken.  All present, except Dave Carufel, Ross Downes, Steven Laws, and Erik Stanger.

     The new business was concerning the lack of snow and especially affected isthe Nordic competition.  A change of location was announced.  We would wait toaccess conditions later concerning the Nordic relay and fun race. 

It was also announced that all awards would be given away the afternoon of the competition,at the base area.  All social events are to take place at the Bayern Halle.

     It was discussed and agreed upon, to make some changes to the registrationforms.  This is for clarity purposes.

      The new website was discussed. It was decided that we need to encourageeveryone to use this regularly to be aware of updates and all IASF news and information. ski-IASF.com or ski-IASF.org both will work.

     Many bid packets were sent to resorts for the WASC 2010 .  Four responded:

Trysell, Norway, Alyeska, Alaska, Steamboat , Colorado, and Saalbach, Austria.

Votes will be collected at the Wednesday evening part;y from all team captains.

     The last board meeting in GAP from the fall were approved.  The financialreport was presented and apptoved.

     There was discussion on a presentation next year in Sweden for the 50th
Anniversary of IASF. Chris Burger has asked that anyone having old photos,
or memorablia, please put on a disc and send it to a board  member. We
would like to present a video presentation of our history.

     Report from Asia……hoping to get a resort interested in bidding forWASC in 2011. Sam Matsumoto will be trying to make the contact.

     Anssi Rekula from Europe, was thanked once again for his effortsin securing the Marriott Sanya Resort  and Halti, for our newest sponsors.

     Don and Michele from Nordic report that the distances for the raceswill be better scrutinized at this event, after the confusion at  Jackson Hole.
