Next World Airlines Ski Championships

Schladming, Austria 7th till March 12th

Hello Team Captains, hello racers,

our replanning to Schladming is successfully  completed and everybody should have received the initial registration packages sent out by Hemma.

Thank you again for your patience. A thank you goes as well to our board of directors for reacting fast and flexible and of course a big, big thank you to Schladming for helping us out, fitting us in and organizing everything in a very un-bureaucratic way.

Hemma will send out an “Information Letter” on a regular basis to keep everybody updated. As well you will find all information and updates here on our web side for download.

To communicate among each other we have established a pin board on our web side under the intranet section. (Just like facebook). To access you need a user name and password.

Please pass this information on to your team members.

As soon Schladming got the news that we want to move our venue to Schladming, Hemma blocked about 600 beds in the centre of town. This gives everybody the opportunity to stay within walking distance to all events. But she can hold the rooms only till December 15th. Of course bookings are possible there after. We just can’t guarantee the best locations any more.

What ‘s new for this event?

We will stick with having the opening ceremony and welcome party on Sunday. This will make the reminder of the week more relaxed. Please plan your arrival accordingly.

Don’t miss a great party!

Slalom races:

The slalom races will be held as a Dual Slalom.

This will NOT be an elimination race but 2 racers running the same time/parallel on a blue and red course. The times will be taken. Than the same racers run again switching courses. The times of the two runs will be added as in a regular SL-race and a standard result list will be generated.

We want to give this format a trial as it has a couple of advantages.

It will take less time to complete the competition thus saving the afternoon for our Snow Board finals.

Two racers running parallel will give the race a new psychological component and a higher thrilling factor for the spectators.

We are waiting for your comments after we had the experience.

Wednesday night theme party:

1001 Arabian nights.                                                                                              Do we have to help you with your imaginations?:-)

So much for now.

Looking forward to see everybody again,

Christian Burger
