As we are glad to recieve bids from resorts all over the world,

in 2015 priority will be given to resorts from Europe.

Thank you for showing interest in hosting the World Airlines Ski Championships (WASC)

What is the WASC? Where is it held? What is the format? What are the responsibilities?

WASC is the World Airlines Ski Championship. The first International event was held in Alyeska, Alaska in 1960.  This competition was a winter carnival with Air France and Swissair as the attending airlines.

Since that time the WASC has spread all over the world. More than 25 resorts on 3 continents have hosted our races.

Today, the IASF (International Airline Ski Federation) provides the impetus for one of the largest world-class ski programs, the WASC. The WASC is held each year at a site selected by the IASF 24 months prior to the event.

To place your bid complete all sections of the bid-sheet.

Therefore please read these documents and make yourself familiar with our IASF rulebook.

Your bid will be competitive if it conforms to our rules.

Your bid will be presented to all the teams represented by their Teamcaptains. You are encouraged to include any additional materials and make a 5 min presentation to the Teamcaptains.

Everything will be considered, but the decision is based on the competitiveness of your bid.

If your bid is selected by the International Airlines Ski Federation site selection process, you will be the host and organizer/sponsor for the competition in the Alpine and Nordic events for airline ski teams from all five continents.

A copy of the IASF Race Rules and By -Laws can be found on this web site,

IASF is NOT a ski club and does not put on the WASC.  Rather, the IASF is a Federation of airline ski teams, which sanctions a host area to conduct the WASC according to Federation rules.
